Inner Peace: Antidote for Stress, Worry and Fear

Calmness is the ideal state in which we should receive all life’s experiences. Nervousness is the opposite of calmness, and its prevalence today makes it very nearly a world disease.

Those whose thoughts are inharmonious will always find inharmony. It is largely a perception from within, more than conditions without. Culture harmony within you, and you will spread it to others… Everywhere you go, into the most incongruous circumstances, you will be able to find and nurture an underlying harmony.

When you worry, there is static coming through your mind radio. God’s song is the song of calmness. Nervousness is the static; calmness is the voice of God speaking to you through the radio of your soul.

Calmness is the living breath of God’s immortality in you.

Everything you do should be done with peace. That is the best medecine for your body, mind and soul. It is the most wonderful way to live.

Peace is the altar of God, the condition in which happiness exists.

If you keep your mind on the resolve never to lose your peace, then you can attain godliness. Keep a secret chamber of silence within yourself, where you will not let moods, trials, battles, or inharmony enter. Keep out all hatred, revengefulness, and desires. In this chamber of peace God will visit you.

You cannot buy peace; you must know how to manufacture it within, in the stillness of your daily practices in meditation.

We should pattern our life by a triangular guide: calmness and sweetness are the two sides; the base is happiness. Every day, one should remind himself: “I am a prince of peace, sitting on the throne of poise, directing my kingdom of activity.” Whether one acts quickly or slowly, in solitude or in the busy marts of men, his center should be peaceful, poised.
