Commentaries by Vee Jay Attri during the Book Study – Secrets of Karma
Let us continue with our wonderful study from Secrets of Karma. We are continuing with neutralizing karma. Yesterday, we talked about how it is important for you to serve without any expectation.
Also, serving for the sake of helping yourself more than anybody else, serving without being noticed. It is very important for you to play the role of a seed soul.
A seed soul is the one who helps in rapid evolution of thousands of souls. At the same time, the seed itself has got no identity of itself. “Beej ka apna koi astitva nahin hota hai.” The seed does not have any identity of its own.
The seed’s job is to help the tree grow and in the process allow the fructation of the fruits and in turn those fruits that carry the seeds multiply and multiply and multiply all from one seed. That is the role of earnest spiritual practitioner. This is actually the disciple’s role. A follower is simply one who follows.
A disciple is the one who actually participates in the co-creation. A disciple is like the seed responsible for the production of thousands of seeds but incognito. So, the self is not visible. What is visible is the tree, what is visible is the fruits.
The leader does not take any credit for oneself. The leader’s job is to ensure that everybody becomes great, everybody manifests their greatness. That is the role of the teacher, that is the role of the leader, that is the role of the disciple. So, check how far you have become a seed soul. This is very important.
So, serving without being noticed, serving for the sake of being a co-creator with God, serving for the sake of helping the humanity to become better. Not for name, not for fame, not that you want anyone to recognize you and not that anyone need to be grateful to us.
Zero expectations and zero desire! That is the disciple. Alright, let us continue with our study. There is a very beautiful quotation from Dr. Annie Besant.
Good wishes, prayers and loving thoughts are of value to those to whom they are sent. They form a protective shield encircling them and ward off many evil influence and danger.
-Annie Besant
Imagine the power of your thoughts. At the beginning of the creation, the great beings had a thought and that resulted in many forms of creations. So much of power is contained in every thought.
Even now as a spiritual practitioner, your thoughts, your intention play such an important role in the evolution of mankind. Somebody, in some part of the world is going to be 100% benefitted with your benevolent selfless thoughts.
So, with the purity of mind when you do the blessing selflessly, it is certainly touching the soul. Somebody is going to be benefitted. So, whether you expect or do not expect, the good karma anyway will come to you. Most importantly, in the form of your spiritual development.
Stop aspiring for anything other than spiritual development. When there is spiritual development, other things will automatically follow. Stop begging, meaning stop asking! Give me this, give me that. This is not the trait of a great spiritual warrior.
The spiritual warrior is the Dhata, the one who gives. So, rather than being a Bhikhari, a beggar asking something or the other all the time, learn to share. Learn to keep on giving. Not physically, not literally and not materially, which is also very good but most importantly, with your thoughts.
Keep on sharing the love, whatever that you want to bless for the world. That is the true blessing, mental service as we reminded you earlier!
You can also generate good karma by blessing people and the world. Your blessings will give strength and hope to others and will come back to you manifold.
Do not harbor ill will even towards people who cause harm to you as your negative thoughts and feelings will give power to them to harm you more and make it worse.
Whether you give them a chance to harm you more or not, most importantly, you do not allow the soul to evolve. So, you have to remember that anybody who is giving you any form of unhappiness or pain, are the people who are obliged to give it to you.
They are simply giving back to you what you had given to them. You will never receive something that you do not deserve. You never reap that which you did not sow. That is the law and therefore when people are giving you pain, do not think about them negatively because you are going to give them more power. That is good but most importantly, given that you are receiving that what you deserve and therefore that person is simply acting as an instrument to give you what you were supposed to receive. We should be grateful to them for helping us to neutralize our karma rapidly.
So, rather than getting angry with the people, learn your lessons. Lessons could be patience, lessons could be unconditional love, lessons could be tolerance, lessons could be responsibility. There are people who do not want to take responsibility for anything in life.
All the time their fingers are pointing outside; because of you, because of this, because of that. So, most important thing is learn zero reaction, accepting things as they are, accepting people as they are.
While it is true that whenever you have a negative thought towards somebody or getting angry with someone, you are only making things worse for that person, worse for yourself also.
It will also prevent you from healing your karmic imbalances with them. The truth is, no one can harm you if you do not have a debt to pay.
Therefore, instead of getting upset, bless them so that you can heal and neutralize your past karma with them.
So, this is one aspect but the most important aspect is, as a spiritual warrior you have to help the worst become the best. Kanton ka phool banane ka kaam hamara hain! Our job is to help the horns to become flowers.
That is exactly why we are have been bestowed with so much of wisdom. Iske bare mein thoda sochna bahut zaroori hai! Very important that you think about it.
Guidelines to bless
Take a few deep breaths and relax. Focus on the center of your chest where there is an energy center called Heart Chakra that helps to experience inner peace, love and compassion.
Now, for a moment I want to remind you that when I am telling you to focus on the heart center, the center for love and compassion, even this wisdom is so precious. You already know about it because you might be a healer. So, for you it is just like somebody reminding you.
But there are millions of people who do not even know that that there is an energy center of compassion and love existing. Just think how fortunate you are! Every wisdom that has come in front of you is so precious but the problem is we do not have value for that.
Even to be aware that there is a center for love and compassion, that when you meditate on that, your love aspect, your compassionate aspect enhances, that wisdom itself is very precious. Just keep cherishing all that you have received. As you meditate on the heart center:
You may please affirm: “I am a being of peace, love and compassion.” Gently bring your hands in front of you with your palms facing out, in a blessing gesture.
Inhale deeply, exhale slowly!
Imagine the planet in front of you and silently say: “I bless the world with peace, love, joy and abundance. May every person, every being be blessed with happiness.”
Lord make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
-Prayer of St Francis of Assisi
Continue blessing. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly!
